'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith renews clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he recalls the dramatic dying seconds of his team's remarkable turnaround triumph against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. That match wrapped up with Galbraith briefly donning a spectator's eyewear following the pitch-side pile-on.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith struck the post with a long-range effort from outside the box, and the defender promptly hammered in the loose ball before racing off toward the home end to mark the goal, with the crowd mobbing the players.

Stunning Reversal

The result capped an unbelievable turnaround given the team had been behind 2-0 during the second half. In the delirium, there was some minor mishaps. Galbraith explained, "There was a fan trying to get our attention and Josh Key and I were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're individuals, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

The result booked a upcoming fixture at home against Manchester City on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith pushed hard at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with the London side in February. He had a prime vantage point when the underdogs took the lead in remarkable manner, with Jamie Donley's long-range effort from about long distance going in via the bar and the Stefan Ortega. It feels criminal that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have expected they would've credited him for taking the effort on from that distance," stated Galbraith, who played in the middle before moving to right flank after they changed tactics. That meant facing off against City's winger, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the attacker was among the City players who paid tribute to the way the underdogs approached the match.

Opponent's Class

"Physically they are outstanding but even the fundamentals and routine actions, they can just perform consistently," the midfielder notes. "It appears that they always find their target and they are adept at manage and take the sting out of a game. You can think you're all right and then without warning they will just deliver a through ball past your midfield without you even spotting it. You have to be switched on at all times of the game. It takes a resilient mindset and concentration just to stay in the game."

Swansea Move

The club sought to acquire Galbraith in January and beat off competition to secure him in the summer in a significant move. He became a favorite as a fans' favourite across two seasons at his former club and has swiftly achieved similar status in Wales. At the London club he linked up again with the coach, who previously gave Galbraith his first extended run in senior football on loan at Doncaster from United. Then came a loan at League Two Salford City, before he moved on from Old Trafford.

Learning Curve

"I was likely a somewhat inexperienced going into professional soccer. I think numerous professionals would say development squad matches is entirely separate. Sometimes it feels like the ball is moved without real physicality. There are limited tackles or duels. Once you start playing men's games you have to learn quickly."

International Recognition

He has demonstrated that maturation for both domestically and internationally, excelling for Northern Ireland, who remain in contention for the global tournament next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has been selected in the past five games, including both legs games against Germany. Ian Baraclough, Galbraith's former international manager, paid him the highest praise, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he handles the football and his ability to spot a decisive through ball.

Humble Beginnings

This marks an incredible journey for the youngster from the Queens Park estate in the Belfast suburb, just outside Belfast, who was raised observing his dad, his father, also a midfielder, play for his father's team.

Red Devils Debut

The player's single match for Manchester United came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a European competition trip to Astana, where they featured on an plastic turf and the stadium roof was closed owing to the weather of -15C. "That proved to be a lengthy journey and it was chilly," he comments, grinning. "The week before, myself and quite a few of the young lads worked out jointly, so that aided our adjustment. Just to join the main group and earn some playing time at the end was unbelievable."

Leaving United

What was the challenge was it to leave United, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged a teenager? "The decision proved relatively straightforward, because I reached the point where I knew I wasn't going to make it at the senior squad. I'm hugely grateful for the time I spent there but it got to the point where I felt I needed to go my own route, join a smaller club and play professional soccer. Now I'm steadily climbing the ladder."

Life in Swansea

This occurs during mid-afternoon at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has an appointment at 5pm: a road rules assessment, another step towards getting on the road. Prior to relocating to his new neighborhood, the young professional was a constant rider in Swansea's nicknamed player transport, a minibus driven by club employees, the transport team, which ferries players to and from training and matches.

"I travel with the Portuguese player, Ronald, an Ivorian player – a former passenger used to be in it but has got his license. It's nice to spend time with the lads but I'm aiming to be the next one to drive independently and behind the wheel. The Portuguese player enjoys practical jokes; he's always up to all sorts."

Public Engagement

When he represented his former club, Galbraith would blend in with followers on London's Central line after beginning his trip at Brentwood. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
